The Nesting Bird, which is still placed proudly on the west side of the Yard Birds in Chehalis,  was formerly a Hanger for the company helicopter and originally sat on the North East side of the property. The helicopter would land on a platform which would be pushed into the bird. The birds tail featheres were doors that would open and close to protect the helicpter. When the tall bird burned in 1976, the nesting bird was moved to the west side and set on the old footings were the tall bird stood.
